Born in Texas and raised in Washington, soccer has been a big part of my life since my childhood. As a youth player, I played for the Federal Way Soccer Club and the Washington ODP teams before making the US Region IV and the U-20 National team. My college years were spent at the University of Washington from '94 to '99, where I played soccer and earned my sociology degree. Â
I was drafted to play for the Seattle Sounders in 1999 and played five years for the club, retiring in 2004. After my playing career, I switched gears to coaching youth soccer. Â
I believe soccer is more than just a game—it's a way to teach important life lessons and impact lives in a positive way. I see my role as helping young players grow in confidence and develop a real passion for the game.Â
Soccer is filled with challenges that require problem-solving skills. It’s about being technically proficient and using soccer intelligence to make the right decision at the right moment. I also believe maintaining possession of the ball as a team is important for making the game more enjoyable for people to watch and for myself to coach.Â
My wife Tami and I met at the University of Washington, where she played on the women's soccer team. We've been married since 2007 and have two boys, Austen and Bennett. We are a Christian family and share a love for Jesus, soccer and good food! Â
I am passionate about sharing my love for the game and helping players reach their full potential both on and off the field.
