Birthplace
Joseph grew up in Seattle, Washington. He played three years for Eastside FC’s B93 Red Team, where he won the 2011 Washington State Cup, participated in 2011 Far West Regional Championships and helped the team to an unbeaten season in RCL Div 1. After graduating from Seattle Prep, he attended Claremont McKenna College and played for the Men’s Soccer team. As a goalkeeper, he earned a clean sheet and recorded an assist in his first college match. Won the 2012 SCIAC Tournament and 2013 SCIAC league title. Recorded the lowest goals-against average in conference play his Sophomore year. During his senior season, he served as a player-coach, designing and running training sessions for the goalkeepers.
After graduating with a degree in Economics and Psychology, he moved back to Seattle. He works for Sounders FC in Digital Media, writing about player development for both Sounders Academy and the Tacoma Defiance in the USL Championship, as well as tactics for the First Team. Spent two years coaching in the RCL jr.’s program, where he helped over two dozen players move on to EFC Red and White teams in the B08, B09 and B10 age groups. He coached his first full-time premier team, the B09 Grey team, during the 2018-19 season. Joseph is also a goalkeeper coach at EFC, helping develop every goalkeeper in the club for both the boys and girls teams. He’s trained numerous goalkeepers that have gone on to play for DI and DII college programs.
Joseph is Tottenham Hotspur supporter, which helped spark his interest in player development and providing talented young players a pathway to the professional game. In his free time, he enjoys watching soccer and spending time with family.
