(Dec 12, 2016) With bells tied to thier shoes and otherwise adorned in festive red EFC scarves, green event t-shirts and assorted Santa hats and antlers, about 60 Eastside FC players, friends and family members dashed through the streets of Seattle to help raise money and awareness for Seattle's Arthritis Foundation. In the club's fifth year to take on the Jingle Bell Run, Team Eastside FC raised $2715 so far to help fund a cure for the debilitating joint disease that affects 50 million men, women and children in the US.
"It's not too late to make a donation," says Susanna Wilken who has organized our Team all five years. "You can still donate through Team EFC for Arthritis Foundation research until December 31st." (Link here.) So far, Team Eastside FC's contribution putsthe club in the top 10 teams at the event, but we can always do better.
Team members were proud to do their part. It's certainly in keeping with the spirit of the holidays -- and it's a great way to get exercise while experiencing community in downtown Seattle. We hope this is a tradition Eastside FC players and families can continue for years to come.
