(Aug 19, 2016)  General George Patton said,  "Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory."  Eastside FC G05 White did just that as the team stepped up last weekend to the Rimland Challenge in Bellingham, Washington, and walked away exhilarated as GU12 champions.

The tournament lived up to its name; the girls had to work hard for the win after dropping their opening match with a disappointing 4-0 to a strong Greater Seattle Surf side. The loss was apparently what the girls needed.  Instead of fading, the Eastside team rose to the challenge, got stronger as the tournament went on, and earned a berth in the final with three solid wins. The final brought them back face-to-face with the same Greater Seattle Surf team from day one, but this time the outcome belonged to our girls in red. The team, coached by Tom Turner, battled to a 2-1 victory, and stepped onto the podium with a well-deserved championship cup after the match.

Eastside FC G98 White were U19 finalists at the tourney. Click here to view complete 2016 Rimalnd Challenge results.
