EFC Girls' Side More Than Makes the Grade in High School
Dominates 2015 Seattle Star Times for Girls' Soccer
(Originally Published Dec 5, 2015; Updated Feb 10, 2016)  Eastside FC players made an impressive showing in Washington state's girls' fall 2015 high school soccer as evidenced yet again in the Seattle Star Times.  This week, the Seattle Times honored "the best athletes and coaches in Seattle-area high-school team sports with its Star Times all-area teams."  In 2015, as in the last four years, Eastside FC players, high school juniors and seniors, figured prominently, named to 4 of the 11 slots.

Olivia Van der Jagt

Two Seattle Times all-area teammembers, Olivia Van der Jagt and Peyton Chick, played for Kentridge High School, which lost early in the state 4A tournament after reaching the state playoffs for its fifth season in a row. Two defensive players, Kaylene Pang and goalkeeper Anna Miller, played for Issaquah High School, which won the 2016 WIAA 4A State Championship and were coached by Tom Bunnell, Eastside FC's Goalkeeper Coach and College Advison.  All played for Eastside FC.

Tom Bunnell was named 2015 WSSCA All-State 4A Coach of the Year. He served as Issaquah High School Girls Varsity Head Coach since 2004, where he was named 3A State Coach of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2007, 4A State Coach of the Year in 2012 and again now in 2015. He has also been named NSCAA State Coach of the year in 2006, 2007, and 2009, and NSCAA Regional (Far West) Coach of the Year in 2007.  He was named NSCAA Large School Coach of the Year in Washington for fall 2015. Dozens from Eastside FC made an impact on their high school teams and received recognition and all-team honors in for the 2015 season.  The following distinguished themselves with WSSCA (Washington State Soccer Coaches Association) All-State honors. (Updated Feb 10, 2016)
